How we began

China Global Advisory’s agreement with CAASS is the first and only agreement executed by CAASS with a private enterprise in its ninety year history. The significance and importance of this historic agreement between China Global Advisory and CAASS is that the central government relies on CAASS as a think tank for agriculture related issues. In 2008, CAASS, formerly a non-government organization (NGO), was merged into the Personnel Development Branch of MOA. CAASS continues to wield significant influence within China’s agricultural policy decision making process. Top Agricultural Ministry officials also serve as the leadership of CAASS. This is one reason China Global was able to arrange a meeting in Washington D.C. between certain governmental members of CAASS and the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. CAASS is the think tank for agricultural policies in that its members are comprised of senior and well respected leaders drawn from the government, top research organizations and educational institutions.
